Power strips are something we all use but rarely think about. They are practical, yet not very exciting. You’ll find them everywhere — under desks, behind sofas, tucked into corners. They are essential, but people often don’t give them much thought when buying. At OOME, we asked a simple question: why should something we use every day feel so outdated? We believe even the most ordinary products deserve extraordinary design. That’s exactly what we aimed to create with the OOME Powerstrip.
Our design philosophy started with one clear idea: match the design ideologies and aesthetics of modern brands like Apple, Samsung, and Nothing. Power strips are eventually going to be placed alongside these sleek devices at your desk, home, or office. They need to follow the latest trends while still being affordable for the Indian consumer.
Material selection was equally important. We chose high-grade fire-resistant polycarbonate, rated V2 and tested up to 750°C, for its strength and safety. Then we finished it with a pearl white, glossy surface that does more than just shine — it resists dust, scratches, and fingerprints, staying pristine even after everyday use. Achieving this level of gloss was challenging at this price point, but true design excellence never comes easy.
Every feature on the OOME Powerstrip is thoughtfully crafted. The distance between sockets is precisely measured, allowing even larger plugs to fit comfortably without blocking neighboring sockets. We engineered each socket with a high withdrawal force to keep plugs securely in place. This prevents frustrating disconnections caused by minor bumps or vibrations. These small but crucial details transform a basic product into a premium experience.
A small footprint was another important factor. We designed the OOME Powerstrip to be slim and lightweight, making it easy to carry and use wherever you need. Plus, with the option to wall-mount it, you can organize your space more efficiently and keep everything clean and accessible.
